Victoria Rivas’ Inspiring Journey From Hobby Karting to Electric Formula Racing
For many young racers, motorsport can feel like a distant dream — an exciting world that’s just out of reach. But VChamp is changing that. By combining expert coaching, structured development programs, and real racing opportunities, VChamp is creating clear pathways for aspiring drivers to progress from karting to professional electric formula racing.
One of the most inspiring recent success stories is that of Victoria Rivas, who went from hobby karting to earning her American Electric Racing License in just two months.
From Hobby Karting to a Real Program
Victoria began her journey at the FAT KART Championship, where racing was something she loved, but had never pursued beyond a hobby. That changed when she joined VChamp, an organization designed to help emerging talent build real racing careers.
The first step was enrolling her in VChamp’s intense karting development program, where she trained with none other than Rafa Matos, a champion driver and one of VChamp’s lead coaches. Under Rafa’s guidance, Victoria learned to push her limits, improve lap consistency, and adopt a professional racer’s mindset.

Completing Stage One of VChamp Racing School
After weeks of focused training and data-driven coaching, Victoria progressed to Stage One of VChamp’s Racing School. This stage is designed to bridge the gap between karting and formula racing, introducing young drivers to advanced driving techniques, racecraft, safety protocols, and the fundamentals of electric race car handling.
Victoria not only passed — she excelled.
First Time Behind the Wheel of an Electric Formula Car
The culmination of her early VChamp journey was unforgettable: Victoria got behind the wheel of an electric formula race car for the first time. This moment marked a huge milestone — she wasn’t just training anymore, she was officially entering the world of open-wheel racing.
Her performance earned her the American Electric Competition License, making her eligible to compete in the inaugural season of VChamp, starting February 20, 2026, at the iconic Sonoma Raceway.

Real Support. Real Pathways. Real Racing.
Victoria’s story is proof that VChamp isn’t just another racing category or academy — it’s a launchpad for new talent. By combining professional coaching, structured development, and direct access to real racing opportunities, VChamp is helping young drivers move beyond karting and into the fast-paced world of electric formula racing.
“Two months ago, I never imagined I’d be driving a formula car. Now, I have my license and a chance to compete in a professional racing series,” Victoria shared after her final test session.
